HRV Engineering has played a major role in the complete preparation, analysis, design, construction management and inspection of electric power transmission towers and high voltage power transmission lines throughout Iceland. We enjoy an excellent working relationship with Landsvirkjun, the National Power Company of Iceland who has entrusted us with much of the energy infrastructure development of the country. And, working in the often hostile weather and terrain of Iceland, we've learned a thing or two about power transmission line design and implementation, avalanche design and power transmission in general.
Project Examples
The following are a few projects that HRV Engineering was extensively involved in, either on behalf of the National Power Company or the City of Reykjavik, the two largest public entities in Iceland. Many of these projects are connected to hydropower plants or geothermal power plants, many of which we helped build:
- Fljotsdalur 400 kV Transmission Line 3 and 4
- Vatnsfell 220kV Transmission Line 1
- Budarhals 220kV Transmission Line 1
- Burfell 400 kV High Voltage Transmission Line 3a
- Nordural 220 kV Transmission Line 1 and 2
- Fljotsdalur 220Kv Transmission Line
The list goes on and spans more then 30 years...
Additional Expertise
We are involved in more then just the design and planning elements of power transmission. HRV Engineering is also responsible for the on-site inspection, repair and maintenance of Iceland's 132kV power net, avalanche protection design and studies, Environmental Impact Assessments, feasibility studies and quality control.
The bottom line is that HRV Engineering has the experience and expertise to handle your next power transmission project.
