HRV Engineering was created when three of Iceland's largest and most respected engineering firms decided to unite and form a new corporation to service Iceland's rapid growth as well as participate in projects abroad. We have had the honor and good fortune to play a leading role in the development of Iceland's infrastructure and heavy industries, most notably the massive development of primary aluminum smelters and the requisite accompanying development of power plants. The group consists of three consulting engineering firms: Honnun, Rafhonnun and VST.
Honnun Consulting Engineers, which is now Mannvit Engineering and the largest firm in Iceland, was founded in 1963. Mannvit operates nine branch offices strategically located throughout Iceland as well as an office in Hungary. The company offers comprehensive consulting engineering services with a primary focus on geothermal energy, geothermal district heating and hydroelectric power plants within Iceland and the global market.
Rafhonnun, founded in 1969, is a specialist in electrical engineering and telecommunications. The company maintains an active presence in industrial and construction engineering and has been involved in many major projects in Iceland.
VST, founded in 1932, is Iceland's oldest consulting engineering firm. They operate seven branch locations throughout Iceland and over many decades has been actively involved in a wide variety of major projects both here and abroad.
